A Welcome to the Website from Monster Street creator Alan Sanborn
Welcome to the Murder on Monster Street Website! I have, with the gracious permission of my mother, Janet Sanborn, and the help of many friends, been haunting 1902 Midvale Ave. in Westwood each Hallowe'en since 1975. Since 1990, nearly all of our productions have been musical in nature, the only exception being 1992, when we did a walk though tour called "Trick or Treating on Monster Street" in the backyard. We moved our shows to the front yard in 1994 and did a musical Monster Street sequel in 1997. This year was our third Monster Street installment, our twelfth original musical show, and our 29th year at the Sanborn House for Hallowe'en.
Since websites are not really my area of expertise, for the first time in 29 years we have a website which documents our show this year, courtesy of our own Dr. Frankenstein, Richard Baltin. Of our current cast of All Hallows Players, Richard has been appearing in shows longer than anyone else except for me. His first show was in 1989 playing, not entirely coincidentally, Dr. Frankenstein. Richard has been designing and printing our programs for us since 1990 and I can't thank him enough for putting up our first website! Maybe if we're real nice to him, we can talk him into expanding into some photos from shows of previous years.
This page (aside from this Welcome), the Program page and the Cast and Crew page are copies of the actual program that was handed out on the nights of the performances. The rest, including the script and all the pictures, are now available on this site for the first time.
To get a look at this year's complete script and the accompanying photos that will walk you through the whole show, go to the Saturday night section.
My thanks to everyone who took photos that were included here as well as to all of my cast and crew for 29 years! And mostly, thanks to the residents of Westwood and the surrounding neighborhoods for being so supportive! Other than that, I think Richard has covered it all pretty well! Enjoy your visit to Monster Street!
