PAYMENT PLANS

When unexpected illness strikes, so does unexpected expense. In these situations, there are special programs in which you may participate

CARE CREDIT
The CareCredit program allows a pet owner to charge any balance over $200 to a special medical credit card and get six months to repay the balance interest -free. The CareCredit card is accepted not only in most veterinary hospitals but at other medical offices as well (dentists, optometrists etc.). Because the card is not accepted for non-medical purchases like a VISA or MasterCard is, it is much easier to obtain than a VISA or MasterCard. You can apply at home at CareCredit.com and in minutes find out how much credit you have been extended for your pet's care. Be aware that if your balance is not paid in full at the end of the six month period, the interest that was not charged for that six month period will be charged all at one time. This can amount to a stiff penalty if the balance is not paid in full within the six month time frame.

SCRATCHPAY
The ScratchPay program is a loan for a specific amount. A smartphone is necessary to apply as text message communication is employed by the program. One fills out an application by phone to borrow a specific amount of money and within a few minutes 3 different payment plans are proposed by the app including a 90 day interest-free option. Once you pick your payment plan, veterinary services may proceed and when completed, the exact amount of your bill is submitted to scratchpay. If you had originally applied for a larger loan than needed, you are not stuck borrowing extra money; ScratchPay only provides the exact amount of the charges and recalculates your payments accordingly. The process is streamlined and the application does not count against your credit score.

VET BILLING
The Vet Billing program involves a credit check which costs $32. Once your credit is graded, our hospital has the option of offering a payment plan. Payments are auto-debited from your bank account with a $3 handling fee each payment.

PET INSURANCE

Our hospital is highly "pet insurance" friendly. We are happy to process your insurance claims and, whenever possible, we prefer to receive direct payment from your insurance company. In many situations, there are insurance-paid options for services. Be sure to ask our receptionist about how to employ pet insurance to cover your pet's expenses. FOR RESIDENTS OF LOS ANGELES, KEEP IN MIND THAT THE CITY
OFFERS SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHERS FOR BOTH DOGS AND CATS.
THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS PROOF OF CITY RESIDENCE.
THE CITY PROVIDES $30 FOR CATS AND $50 FOR DOGS.
